I was just goofing around with a couple balls of garden twine… and after tossing these in the washing machine, they actually came out pretty comfortable and warm. So I made more footies with regular yarns for my family, and they love them.
I was thinking about using copper wire next time, but one of my sons warned not to try it. Maybe he has a point. :roflhard:

Love the footies! They do look very cozy! 
I think those would be a great thing to make in a really big size to slip on over your regular shoes for mucking about in the garden, and then you can just slip them off, hose 'em down, and hang them on the clothesline to dry, and your regualr shoes stay clean! Kind of like the foot covers doctors wear in the hospital, just a little bit different principle.
