I guess my search-fu doesn’t work very well when it comes to this type of project!
I’m looking for simple, basic, free seamless pullovers and cardigans in size 18-24 months for my little girl and I can’t seem to find any!
They all seem to be too big or too small or too frilly or too elaborate.
I’ve tried googling, I’ve searched all 41 pages on Ravelry and nothing has popped up for me!
I know there’s a pattern where you enter your own measurements and knit it that way, but to be honest, my little one won’t stay still long enough to let me measure her, and I’m not comfortable enough in my own knitting yet to try that sweater.
I also know that you can knit almost any sweater in the round by subtracting a certain amount of stitches, but again, I’m just not comfortable enough to try that yet.
Can anyone help me with links to what I’m looking for?
You can always measure something she fits now, and make it a wee bit larger. That’s always best anyway, instead of measure the body, measure clothes and knit to that size.
Some of the frilly sweaters, you can knit in stockinette st instead of the frou frou, and you can also take a pattern that’s written for small sizes in fingering yarn and use a worsted and larger needled. Just follow the pattern numbers, though you’d want to knit it longer. After a year, kids mostly grow up, not out, so the chest size for a 2 year old isn’t that much bigger than for a 12 mo old.
