Just a quick question about stitch placement

Hey everyone  I’m working on a pair of mitts on DPNs, and I’m just a little worried I have the stitches on the wrong needle…here’s the pattern

Now, it says “12, 10, and 10 sts respectively” Am I wrong or right for having this set up:

Needle 1: 12 sts
Needle 2: 10 sts
Needle 3: 10 sts?

Or should it be 10,12,10? I think I’m used to having the extra sts in the middle, so I’m not sure if I have this right or not. Thanks in advance!

Your link doesn’t work. It goes to your library instead of the pattern.

W/o seeing the pattern I’d say to put them as they say with the 12 stitch needle as the first one.

Sometimes it doesn’t matter and it’s just placing the stitches about evenly on the needles. Sometimes you need more stitches on one needle if you are going to be doing something on that needle that requires more stitches.

Ah, alright, thanks so much!

(PS. If anyone is curious, here’s the correct link to the pattern, um…I think hehe) (You’ll have to click on the link to the PDF)
