Joining right shoulder seam

Hi there,

Still going with the baby’s sweater and have now made up the back, front and sleeves.

The next stage of the pattern is front shoulder band. The pattern says this -

Using back-stitch, join right shoulder seam. With right side facing, using 2.75mm Needles and M, knit up 17 sts evenly along left front shoulder edge.

Work 3 rows rib as for lower band of Back, beg with a 2nd row.

Not having knitted to a pattern before, I’m not sure what they are asking. I assume I stitch (using back-stitch), the front and back right shoulder seam together. After that, I’m a bit confused.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Heidi

Yes, join the shoulder seam however you want to do it, then pick up 17 sts along the left front and work them as for the lower band, starting with the 2nd row of that pattern.

Thanks Sue, you’ve come to the rescue again. Will let you know how it goes. This is the first time that I would have picked up sts, so we shall see.

Thanks again,

Heidi
