My sweater pattern is in stockinette stitch, and the instructions have me doing back and forth to the end of the v neck before joining in the round. But it says to end the back and forth after the purl row and begin the join row on the knit side. Trouble is, of course, the working yarn is on the left of my circular needle. How do I join now on the knit row, as instructed?
Welcome!
If the yarn is on the left end of the needle, it sounds like you’ve just completed a knit row. Work one more row, the purl row and then you’ll be ready to join on the following knit row.
What is the name of your pattern?
Nope, the instructions end on the purl row (back and forth before joining to knit in the round) and begin the join on the knit, front, side. It’s from Kate Oates’ “Knit for Boys”, page 36 (not the easiest instructions to follow, btw). But it’s okay. I figured out a way to make it work (joined as if it were the first row of knitting from the cast on.)
Thanks for the rapid response!
