Hi. I usually use the felting method for joining wool, but this time I am knitting in 100% cotton. I need to join same color and same type yarn but it needs to be seemless, as it is a fitted-style scarf with both sides being the right side. I looked at the joining yarn techniques on this site, but I couldn’t decide which one to go for. I would be grateful for suggestions. Many thanks…
You will probably just have to add in the new yarn and knit with the two strands for 3 to 5 stitches then weave in the ends…that shouldn’t be visable.
Thank you for your reply. I tried that actually, and the area knit with the double yarn looked very bulky. I wonder if I would have the same problem with Russian Join.
I would al least try the russian join. It looks like it’s pretty sturdy. if you cut off 1/2 of the plies like she did with the first strand, it might be better.
Thanks. I’ll give it a go. xxx
