Join in the round?

Hi, I am sort a new to knitting and am just absolutely lovin’ it! I was given a pattern for the helmetliners for military members and I don’t understand how to “join in round” the pattern reads"co 84 loosely. place marker, join in round. I have never knitted in the round before so any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

i would watch Amy’s video on large diameter knitting…i believe it is in the advanced section it is a great video and taught me how to do it!!

I had that problem when knitting my first pair of socks,
You knit the last and the first stitches together, so then your working in a circle,

Hope this helps,

When joining in the round your working yarn will be coming from your right needle. The loop part of the needles will be away from you as you will be knitting on the outside. Just slide the yarn toward the ends of the needles and just start knitting. Make sure the knitting isn’t twisted first though!

Just thought of something…if you’ve never knit in the round…are you using circular needles?
