Jo-Ann Sensations Beautiful ...question

I was wondering if anyone has used this yarn and what you think. It feels wonderful! Anyone made a sweater with it? I’m a new knitter and this would be my first sweater but I think it would feel so nice! If not a sweater what else could you make with it? Any tips or ideas? Thanks.

Here is what I have learned most recently. Although I love the cheaper yarn that are blends of acrylic and natural fibers (mostly because I am cheap) and because I can get them at Michaels which is conveniently located, I have discovered that for more complex patterns, it is better to use the natural fibers. This way, a finished item can be blocked, which makes SUCH A BIG difference.

HOWEVER, for beginners (like me), the Joann’s yarns are a really good way to learn and they make excellent yarns for sweaters and stuff for kids because they are easier to launder.

WhatCarmneb said. I use acrylic for kid projects especically cuz they are washable. But those really soft fuzzy yarns at Micheals and Joannes can be fun for us adults too. I’m making a scarf out of Joannes Angel Hair, very similar to sensations, and there is stich definition in the cable pattern. It is also stoopendously soft and washable and cheaper than yarn at the LYS. So I would say go for it!

[color=brown]I recently made a small sweater with the Sensations Bellezza Collection Stellina. It’s a thin sport weight and although the recommeded needle size is 8, I used 1 & 3 for my project. I absolutely loved working with it and went back for more!!!

This yarn was really hard to get the true collor in a photo, as it has a shimmery nylon thread wrap which reflexes any light.[/color]

[color=indigo]Sorry, not on line. Bearly available in my head now.

It’s just a basic bottom to top raglan (not seamless) done with cables from books of nothing but different sts.

I decide which cables I want to use and add up the number of sts, then I add to that figure 1 st for every cable twist, and inc on the last row of ribbing.

I tie yarn markers on the needle in the last row of ribbing where either side of the cable section is centered and do the rest of the sts in moss st on the outside edges.

Does any of this make sense???[/color]

I’m only 3 mos or so into this so I don’t know much about yarns yet.

Gotta say that sweater is adorable! Is it for a baby or a doll? It looks so tiny!

My other hobby, collectables. They don’t out grown, get dirty, snag or anything worse to their knits.
I like working on small projects that I can get a little creative with.

That yarn is a wool blend from Italy. I didn’t notice if the other Sensation yarns are also from Italy, as I only use thinner yarns. It’s wonderful to work with.
I have some creme color, aqua and lavendar now.
Another hobby…collecting yarn. :rollseyes:
