Hi all. I have a question about Japanese short rows. I have never done them before. If I am doing a sweater knitting in the round, and my pattern (Throughstone by Bristol Ivy) calls for Japanese short rows. I want to confirm my understanding that I am basically just knitting back and forth between these markers for the rows indicated, correct? and not actually going around the whole sweater at any time? It says to repeat rows 3 and 4 -7 times. I feel like that is a lot of rows in just that part without actually going all the way around. I just want to be sure I’m understanding before I start. Thanks!!!
Yes, it is right! You are not going to work in the rounds but instead work gradually longer and longer rows.
thank you!!
