No, sea urchins aren’t very cuddly! :roflhard: DH held this for me so I could take a photo. I should have taken one of the other side, too. It has a mouth. Kinda creepy if you ask me! After I took the photo he said he had to put it down because it was starting to move! Urk!
As for floating “cat hair tribbles” anyone with a cat knows about those! I have to vacuum a couple times a week to keep them under control and I only have ONE cat!
Attached to what? The rocks? They sort of attach themselves, but they move around to find their food. I think they move so slowly it appears they don’t go anywhere.
When I was younger, I went with my Mum, Aunt and cousins to Cornwall and we collected LOADS of starfish one day - we wanted to keep them and take them home! but we held them on our hands and (eugh it makes me shudder to think about it now) when we took them off we had to peel them off cos the little suckers on their underneath all attached to us …
Why am I so squeamish now? I used to collect caterpillars too and had them crawling all over my hands but now if I even see one I’m off!
I find that wiggling in my hands very unsettling…and I definitely cannot tolerate something stuck to me! Ick…ew…blech…I’ve got the heebie jeebies just thinking about it!
I’ve always lived near the beach and used to pick up things that I wouldn’t touch now including caterpillers.
The GROSSEST, ICKIEST thing that happened to me was probably 10 yrs ago or so…we were walking along the ocean barefoot and I was sorta kicking things like small rocks and sticks when we were coming up to a large black rock. I obviously knew I couldn’t kick it, but thought I could roll it over, except… my toe went INTO it! It was a large black sea slug! OMG! It makes me shiver thinking about it now!
:roflhard: I have been crying for 5 minutes now - oh no, I wiped the tears too hard and my contact lense has moved! sorry that was sooo funny! I’m glad i don’t have mascara on today! :roflhard:
:roflhard: What’s really funny about that is my maiden name is Treml and a Sgt. at work always said “The Trouble with Tremls” when I would say something strange… :roflhard:
The sea urchin was probably saying, "What nice hands you have! :eyebrow: "
:roflhard:
Jan I also have to say that those look like AWESOME strawberrys for strawberries and biscuts. Ohh how I can wait for strawberry season this summer to make that
Jan those strawberries look fantastic. I bet they were good. When I was in High School my dad worked for a company that had a lot of customers in California so he and my mom would go to Ca in March and I would beg them to bring me those wonderful strawberries. hmmm I can taste them now.
My LYS is having a “Yarn Tasting” in April! How cool is that!? It’s $5 per person and you bring your own needles and get to “sample” different yarns! I think I’ll try and go!
So while I was there today I got a #3-40 inch Addi Turbo! If I didn’t just have to have it NOW I would have ordered it somewhere… it was $16.65  I also got some Plymouth DK #597 for preemie hats/blankies. It looks a little peachier IRL.
