Jacket of Many Colors

I wanted to make something real warm for my daughter and didn’t have enough of one color so decided to go with stripes. The yarn is Brown Sheep Company Country Classic Thick and Thin wool. It is a bulky yarn that I used a single strand of throughout. And some old Red Heart worsted wool (the gold and trim color) that I used doubled. I put stranded work acorns in the yoke and appliques of oak leaves I knit from a single strand of the RH. She requested one pocket.

She says it is the warmest thing she has ever worn. :aww: And she said she has gotten compliments from total strangers. Makes a mother’s heart sing. cloud9

And I see a gazillion ends that had to be woven in.

Thanks. Yes, there are a lot of ends. I worked over as many of them as I could while knitting but still had a lot to work in. I’m getting to where I like working in ends. Must be old age. LOL

Awesome sweater!:cheering: :woot: :woot: :yay: What pattern did you use???
Thanks for sharing

I started with the idea of warm. Looked at my stash and this is what I had enough of. Made a swatch and made a pattern with my Sweater Wizard software. Added a few changes and things it wouldn’t let me do and came up with this.

Gr8 job n lovely
