Ivy knitting pattern

I’ve looked all over the Internet for an English ivy leaf pattern but can’t find one. I want one that actually looks like English ivy leaves on vines with a mesh background. I saw a reference to an ivy pattern, but it looks [I]nothing[/I] like real English ivy (in my opinion).

I’m tempted to try to make up a pattern myself, but I’m certain that will be a lesson in frustration as I’m not very familiar with knit stitches.

Meanwhile, does anyone know of an existing pattern such as I’ve described?

I’ve never seen one either…you may have to make one yourself. I’m not sure what you mean by mesh either… I mean I know what mesh is, but not in relation to this… :??

What I mean by mesh is something similar to this (basically, yos where the leaves/vines are not): http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/PATTbranchingout.html.

Hmmm . . . I could easily figure this pattern out in crochet, but knitting is another story. I guess I’ll give it a shot anyway.
