I've made a terrible mistake!!

I’ve knitted back and forth on circular needles , wasn’t paying attention and joined in the round. It’s a huge blanket I’ve about finished. Thank you, Penny

You didn’t ask a question, but I’m going to assume you want to know how to fix it? How far did you go beforeyou discovered you’d joined? Two ways you can do this.

  1. Tink back stitch by stitch till you reach the point where you joined and undo it then continue knitting flat.
  2. Take the needles out and rip back to a point whee you joined and then continue knitting flat.

If it’s a very detailed/complicated stitch pattern you need to make sure you know what row you are doing when you restart.

Thank you so much!! I’ve only gone half a row in garter stitch.

Probably easier to tink it.

Yep, definitely TINK back stitch by stitch then.

We’ve all done things like this so don’t feel bad. I’ve been knitting since 2005 and last year I was making a Woobie for a baby gift and was knitting in the round. I twisted the join and didn’t notice till I’d knit 4"!!! It’s still in time out. :joy:

Thanks so much for the encouragement!! It worked!!

It wouldn’t be a handcraft if it always went according to plan. :stuck_out_tongue:
