I have a third-degree burn on my right arm, nothing to worry about. It’s not huge and it’s healing nicely with no sign of infection. But I couldn’t knit! The burn is very near my elbow and the constant flexing of those muscles was very uncomfortable. Knitting is how I deal with stresses and things so I lost my self comforting mechanism. I finally was able to cast on last night and knit for an hour or so. It was such a comfort. I didn’t realize how much knitting has become a part of my life, until i couldn’t do it for awhile. It’s feeling even better today so I may get to knit longer this afternoon. I just needed to vent a little.
I hope your arm gets better very quickly and you can get back to the knitting you love. I know I would be lost without my knitting. It truly is sanity with pointed sticks!
Third degree?? How’d you do that? I hope you’re under the care of a doctor, they can be very serious.
I’m glad it’s getting better!
take care:hug:
It’s a steam burn. Did you know steam is incredibly freaking hot? Well it is nods :teehee:

Ouch! speedy recovery Eccie .
sending you healing thoughts
I’m glad it’s healing ok
Hi Eccie
Oooh - made me cringe just to hear it!!
Was it from a kettle or what? Good grief, that’s one very nasty burn.
I hope it won’t be too long before you can pick up the sticks and knit to your heart’s content again.
All the Best
Ellie (not the Welsh one)
It was a pot of rice. there was a small gap between pot lid and pot and that where I happened to place my defenseless arm. It’s much better these last few days
It itches like mad but it doens’t hurt very much
Have you tried a menthol rub for the itch; it can help soothe it.
