Making a hat that calls for two rows of Italian tubular cast-on before joining in the round and starting a 1x1 ribbing. Never used this method before but I found a video online and did those first two rows. Now it says to pull the yarn that runs through the stitches on the bottom. Does it matter if I wait until I’ve got a couple rows of rubbing done to do this? Or do I need to do it before I join in the round?
Got a link to your pattern? I never heard of this CO before, gotta see what it is!
I found the video on YouTube:
That’s a great cast on! It looks to me like you could work those 2 set up rows, join in the round, work your 1x1 rib, and then pull out the running yarn. I’d mark the beginning of my round so that I could see where that first little " knot" starts so I could pick it apart.
Hope this helps!
I agree. (I was waiting to agree with someone.) Be careful that you don’t catch the tail of the yarn you’ll be pulling out in with your stitches. Thanks for the link to the hat. I like it. Maybe I’ll get round to making it myself.
Really cute hat! I have it in my queue but haven’t made it yet.
Oh! Good point! Thanks.
