Issue from a n00b

hey there. I’m new here and new to knitting and I encountered a problem which is probably really simple for all of you’s more experienced people. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m knitting a sock pattern from here and I don’t know what to do when it says

BO 6 sts, work 12 sts in rib, BO rem sts

I’d do exactly what it says, but won’t it end up with 6sts of BO shorter than the rest of the sts/otherBO? . I’m not sure if that made sense, but ay help is appriciated. :stuck_out_tongue:
 I know it’s probably a silly issue, but I don’t want to make a mistake that’s too difficult to back up. XD[/quote]

You bind off six stitches.
YOu knit/purl your way along through the next twelve stiches.
Then you bind off the rest.

All of the above happens on the same row.

 thank youuu so much, now I can rest at ease knowing it wasn’t some trick I hadn’t learned yet.
I appriciate it.
goes back to knitting :XX: <—how cute.
