Hello!
So I’ve only done a few basic patterns since learning the basics so hope this isn’t a really silly question!
I’m following an old Lister pattern that my mum gave me for a top and am confused by the instructions yfwd, yrn, k1 rep to end. Now, as there are 71 stitches remaining, not only does 3 seperate stitches fit in properly, but I’ve not seen a yrn before while knitting, only purling.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Welcome to KH. Whatever it’s called, you want to end up with a yo. This is another way to do it.

Welcome to the forum!
It’s a good question. Can you give us a bit more of the row (before and after the yrn) and maybe a link to the pattern if available?
Thanks for the replies… I’ve added a photo of the pattern, sorry about the quality of it!
Yes, this sounds like a double yarn over: yarn forward and then yarn round the needle to the back to knit. The yarn overs are dropped on the next row to give you an elongated stitch. You should be able to tell from the photo of the sweater if this is the case.
(It’s true, you usually see yrn before a purl st.)
