I began a pattern today and it calls for yf (yarn forward), but when I do it, it seems to be the same as a yarn over. Are they the same thing. I bring the yarn between the two needles, to the front and then knit, which loops the yarn the same as a yarn over.
It depends on what follows it. If it’s yf and slip the next stitch, yb, then it’s just bring the yarn to the front. If it’s yf and knit the next stitch (or k2tog or slip 1 knit1, psso) then it makes a YO.
