Is it possible to join yarn on a purl stitch?

I just watched the video on this site for how to join same color yarn but am wondering if I can use the same method while purling. I assume that I can, but I wanted to check.

Also, shall I assume that it is better to join yarn on the wrong side of the work than on the right side?

Yes, you just leave the tail on the WS and do the next st. When you get a few rows past it, you can deal with the ends.

Or you have an all wool yarn you can do a felted join which would be evern easier.
