Is it possible to fix an accidental YO?

I’m looking at a completed scarf I did a few months ago when I was really new at this, and I can now recognize that there are a couple of spots where I created holes by doing an accidental yarn-over.

Are these holes fixable without ripping the whole thing back? It seems if I purposely dropped the stitch from the top, that wouldn’t correct the problem, since I added an increase each time, right?

Thanks for your help – if there is anything to be helped.

Wouldn’t that just give you a big ladder? Maybe I’m just not picturing this correctly. Did you have more stitches per row when you finished than you did when you made the YOs? If you made YO increases, I think that’d be hard to fix.

I think I did wind up with a couple extra stitches as a result of the yarn overs. I must’ve just knit them normally in the next row.

I was hoping maybe there was a way I could weave in an extra bit of yarn for a stitch or two and cover it.

Thanks,
Amy

Oh… I totally did not think of that! If your main concern is the holes, have you tried just using a needle point to even out the stitches a bit?

You could sew it closed if you wanted, but you’d have ends to weave it. That spot might not be as noticeable as the hole.
