Is it possible to successfully block a project made with acrylic yarn?

I am almost finished making a shawl out of Yarn Bee Fetching Yarn, which is 90% acrylic and 10% metallic polyester.

Most people will tell you no. I generally just wash and dry it, but I’ve only used acrylic with baby/child things that need that treatment anyway.

I haven’t tried this myself. Do be careful not to kill the acrylic (unless you want to).
