Anyone have a pattern for an iPod touch cozy, I’m going to the store today to buy yarn for it because I want to have my next project figured out before I finish my scarf. thanks in advance I finally got an iPod touch and I don’t want to screen to get scratched in my purse when I’m at school so I wanna knit a nice little cozy for it it’s only an 8 gig :happydance:
This site has dozens of different patterns for iPods including one shaped like a hoodie.
Be aware that some of those are for the smaller iPods.
I had a site bookmarked, but they closed the blog. Basically, it’s a bag with one end open tied shut with a drawstring. You measure the height and width of your Ipod. You figure out your gauge with the yarn and needles you want to use. Get the stitches per inch and cast on that number. You can knit this as one long piece and stitch up the sides or you can knit it as a tube and sew the bottom shut. Leave the top open for the Ipod and drawstring. It’s like an Ipod sock. I think I used a #7 needle and cast on 24 stitches. I used a k1,p1 rib because it hugs the form better and is more forgiving if your gauge is off a little. I adapted this for my boss’s cell phone at Christmas time. She was always losing her phone and her earpiece. This one has a pocket on the outside for that.
I have a great idea for it now a k1,p1 ribbing in red and black stripes with a soft, i-cord string to be a makeshift necklace so I can wear it during school and not forget it in another class, even if I forget my purse… I am a very very forgetful person
I knitted the pocket as a separate piece and sewed it on. It would be cast on half the stitches or 12. You can knit the bag an inch longer, fold down a casing to the inside, sew it up except for one inch, and string in elastic or a drawstring. You can also knit eyelets to accommodate the drawstring if you want. I attached D rings to mine and put it on a lanyard (neckchain keyring) that my boss could wear around her neck. You can also attach it to a climber’s ring around your jeans belt loop so you don’t lose it.
those are all great ideas, that should help me not lose my iPod once I get it back from my friend, hopefully tomorrow
