I have been trying to look for an iPod nano case pattern to knit with worsted weight yarn and straight needles possibly, but can’t seem to really find anything. If any of you know of some patterns please tell me!
On this page is a pattern. Even though the original was made on circs there is advice about approaching it with straights. I think you’d need to experiment with worsted gauge perhaps.
The advice and pattern are under the image sorry.
Just saw these before on knittingcentral but didn’t open to look:
i made one for my niece. i just made a ribbed rectangle. the ribbing stretches to keep a snug hold on the ipod. i used circs, but you could do one long piece and seam it up both sides. i used apple green for the body and hot pink fun fur for a boa-like trim around the case. an icord handle tops it off.
I was also looking for one and this is what I will make after I get it in the mail in a week or so…http://chocnvodka.blogware.com/blog/_archives/2005/8/26/1172247.html
Thanks everybody! Since I was on a road trip before I could see anymore of these replies, I made one myself. All I did was cast on 14 sts onto a size 8 needle and worked stockinette st until it can cover both sides of the iPod. After that, on every row I start to decrease on each side of the row. Then, when the flap was long enough I binded off and sewed a button onto the flap. The case was too wide I came to find out, so I sewed it down the middle and one side is for my iPod and the other side is for my earphones! It doesnt look that great but it works for right now at least. I made it in Sugar n Cream cotton and it looks self striping which is cool.
Anyways, thanks for all your help!!! I’m not completely satisfied with the case I made so I might knit one of these suggestions. Besides, you can never have enough cases!!!
