Invisible cast on

I am gong to start a scarf pattern that calls for invisible cast on…

Is there another way of casting on so that I don’t have to do this type of cast on. Will it really show or matter?

have not done the invisible cast on…the second strand makes me nervous… :crying:  :frowning:

The easiest method for me has been the crochet method of invisible cast-on…you crochet a simple chain with several more stitches than you need to cast on, then pick up your stitches through the back “bumps” of the chain. Later, you just unravel the chain to expose the live stitches.

Someone will probably chime in with better instructions…but I assure you, it’s nothing to be afraid of!

Is that the same thing as crocheting the stitches directly onto the left needle and later unraveling? I hope so, because that’s the method I did for Tubey and I’ll be real upset if it’s not going to work!

This one is good.

So provisional and invisible are the same?

I’ve always seen the terms used for the same thing.

Well that answers a few questions for me! :happydance:
