Introduction on behalf of Carolyn Ya-Ya!

Carolyn, my beloved Ya-Ya also spins & dyes her own yarn. She’s very talented, and has even won First Place in the Fall Fiber Festival of Virginia 2005.

Carolyn has even been known to stop her car and pull over to the side of the road to collect cotton in laundry bags to spin into yarn. She spun it up and knit a swatch for us Ya-Yas to drool over. It’s the softest yarn I’ve ever held in my hands. Softer than angora and cashmere! I kid you not, folks.

I’m going to send her over to this forum, please give her a warm welcome. She’s the sweetest, kindest lady you’ll ever meet.

Okay, thanks Denise, for getting my foot in the door!! I guess there is not too much more to say about myself except that I am a true fiberholic and am not seeking treatment to cure it! I am looking forward to being part of the community.

Why, thank you so much Angela! I am excited to be here.
The yarn was just from some very nice cotton I got to pick after the harvester went over it. I had to pick out a lot of trash, but it was very clean and white afterwards and nice quality cotton to begin with. I think mostly the softness came about since I spun it on a charkha rather than a traditional wheel. (I can do long draw with a charkha, but have not mastered it with a spinning wheel).
