I would really like to learn how to double knit to do some nice thick hats. Unfortunately, I find it confusing and would like to find a good introduction video. Can anyone recommend one? Thank you so much!

I started out with a small flat piece to get the idea.
I haven’t knit a double knitted hat yet.

I’ve done mostly flat work in double knitting too
I’ve found to get a nice thick hat though, I just knit an oval shape with the crown stitches at both the top and the bottom and twice as long, then you just put one side inside the other. You can also add duplicate stitches before you do the second crown to put any design on it and all of your WS stitches are hidden once you’re done! 
I’ve also used a provisional cast on to do the double brim with the regular hat as well

We had a forum member for awhile who was exploring extreme double knitting (Mike) and produced some terrific projects. Mike recommended Falling blox for ideas on how far double could be pushed.
