Intro and increase question

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, a newbie knitter and mom to 2 boys, one of whom is the beneficiary of my new hobby: knitting diaper soakers.

On the needles now is the Ottobre cover (http://www.ottobredesign.com/en/print/pdf/wool_diaper_cover_en.pdf) which has some translation issues. I am currently stuck at the front increase. Directions say to cast on 3 stitches at both ends of the row “using a loop cast on.” I’ve looked through the videos here but can’t can’t figure out how to do this -am I missing something? Is there another term for this? Does it really matter how I add on stitches?

BTW I am using Noro Kureyon. TIA!

I’m guessing that they mean the backwards loop method. Amy has a vid for it, so you shouldn’t have any problems.

Yes, the backwards loop caston is what they mean, and no, you can use any you want.

Hi Sarah! I am also starting to knit diaper soakers, shorties and longies -but I have never seen this pattern! Have you considered using circulars - much easier IMO! I love the Picky Pants Pattern from Little Turtle Knits!
