Am knitting man’s sweater: there is a 16 row pattern. At “Shape Raglan Armholes”, it says “* Keeping pattern correct throughout, bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Knit 2 rows. 5th r: k2, k2tog, k to last 4 sts, sl1, k1, psso, k2. 6th r: p2, k1, work to last 3 sts, k1, p2. 7th r: k. 8th r: As 6th r. * Rep. the last 4 rows 10 times.” How can I rep rows 5, 6, 7 and 8 and keep pattern? Need help interpreting these shape raglan instructions. Thanks.
When it instructs you to work or knit to the last however many stitches you would do that work in keeping with the pattern.
So continue with your pattern but repeat those decreases for the armholes.
It would help if you made little notes on the pattern you are working with. For example if you are on row 8 of the 16 row repeat and that will be round 5 of the armhole shaping write a five next to that row, a six on row 9 and seven on row 10 and a eight on row 11. Then just repeat the decreases up the chart (a five next to row 12, a six next to row 13 etc…)
It’s sort of like you’re following two sets of instructions at once. Just make sure you keep your place in the chart and you’ll do great.
