Intermediate Cable Pattern doesn’t tell all

Hi I was given the Knitcraft by Hobbycraft Broken Honeycomb Jumper pattern for Christmas and am trying to have a go at the two patterns, textured cable and broken honeycomb but am struggling as it says use stitch markers but then doesn’t tell me where to put them. It says in the pattern notes that stitch markers (sm) are used to set the pattern placement??? How do I do that?

What I knit has something happening on it but it doesn’t look like the picture!!

It may help to place the markers before each cable in the lower panel, at least for the first few rows until you can see the cable pattern.
On the yoke, the pattern shifts so much that the markers may or may not be helpful.

Can you post a photo of your knitting? It might take several rows to see the cables.
