Hi I never did this technique before. The problem Im having is where do I-get the yarn for the “bobbins” if I only have one skein of yarn for that color? And how do I know how much yarn to put on the bobbin after Ive finally figured out where to get the yarn from? Thanks!

You have to make an estimate of how much yarn to pull from your skein of yarn and then cut the yarn off the skein.
Here’s a video for one way to make a butterfly bobbin:

If you haven’t pulled enough yarn for the area that you need to cover then you simply pull more yarn from the skein and make an additional bobbin. It’ll create a few more ends to weave in but that’s usually not so difficult to deal with.

Hi Thank you but Ive started knitting and using the skein. The other end is buried in the middle of the skein somewhere! Maybe Im not able to explain my problem!

Can you pull out a length of yarn from the strand you’re using and make that a butterfly? Then you would have a free end of yarn to work with or pull more butterflies. Alternatively, find the buried other end of yarn.
