Quick question on Intarsia…What do you do if the first row and the second row don’t line up color-wise. I want to do intarsia on a large letter in the middle of a piece, but in some places the color is 2 or 3 stitches wide, and then the next row is maybe 8 stitches wide, with 3 or 4 stitches on either side of the color on the row before. Do I just carry the yarn like fair isle over to where the color should begin?
If the color starts before it did on the previous row, you can bring the cc yarn over to where it needs to be. One thing I do is to catch it under my mc yarn a stitch before so it’s a little more secure when I knit with it and doesn’t try to pull inward, if that makes any sense.
That makes sense to catch it one stitch before…thanks Ingrid!
