Increasing

I have already made 2 berets from a Lion Brand Pattern out of their Chenille yarn. My daughter wants another one out os snow white. I can’t find any (she wants it while it is still cold enough to wear it…lol) so I am trying to do it with two strands of 4 ply worsted. The first 4 rows are in K1 P1 ribbing in the round. (whole project is in the round) My problem is that when I increase with the chenille, it doesn’t show. When I increase with the white I’m not sure whether to make it a K or P. I thought I should make it whatever was next after the stitch I just did, but then I would be knitting in a purl stitch after the increase. :?? I don’t know what to do on the next round.

Thanks for any help

Justine

Do they have you increasing in the last row of ribbing? Is it stockinette after the ribbing?

I’d just finish the ribbing as is and increase in the first round of stockinette if that is the case.

The pattern says "Work K1 P1 rib for 4 rnds. Inc 16 sts evenly spaced - 68 sts. Then change to ST st for 3 1/2 inches from beginning.

I have been doing an increase every 14th stitch over the 4 rounds.

Thanks for reply.

I would do the increases just on the very last round of ribbing, or the first round of st st.

Increases should be done in the last round of the ribbing, that’s why you’re having problems keeping the ribbing even.

Thank you soooooo much. I’m going to do it in the last row of ribbing as you suggest.

 Thanks again, Justine
