Increasing size of sock

I’m just about finished a sock for myself (still need to do the second!) and am getting excited about knitting a similar pair for my husband. I am using Noro Kureyon sock on size 1 needles. I like the gauge so I don’t want to go up in needle size. Can I just increase the number of stitches I cast on and then appropriately percentage wise increase the other instructions? Such as how many stitches for the heel flap and decreases etc? I’m following the Silver sock tutorial but am doing the ribbing down the top of the foot as well.

I forgot to add in that I want to use the extra yarn from my current sock project to make some small socks for my 1 year old. Same question as above but downsizing for him.

Thanks!

There is a book by Ann Budd called the Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns which I highly recommend. It has several basic patterns in a multitude of sizes and gauges/yarn weights, including socks. Well worth the money and everything I’ve ever knit from it has come out perfectly.

I found a chart online which I think answers my question. Its a “basic sock chart”.
