Increasing in the round, pattern Question

My pattern says to increase on next round and every 5 rounds following a total of 8 times? My pattern for the round is round 1: knit
round 2: k1 p1…, Round 3 Knit, Round 4 P1,k1…

I am conufused on if I do this on each round 1-4 or after completing all four and what does the 8 times mean?

Increase every 5 rounds. So increase on the next round and then, after that, rounds 5, 10, 15, 20, 25,30 and 35. That’s a total of 8 times or 8 increase rounds.
