Increases on sleeves

More questions.
I have to add increases on sleeves and wanted some clarification on the instructions.
Here are the instructions:
(RS) Inc 1 st each side this row then every 7 rows 4 times.
So should I put the increases 1 st in from the beginning and end? What kind of increase is best? For the rows to put the increases in, I am reading the pattern as putting them in row 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. So I will be putting increases in on K row, then P then K then P then K.
Thanks in advance.:knitting:

Sounds right to me. Depending on the yarn and the pattern would determine what type of increase would look best. You probably would put them one or two stitches in from the edge just to make seaming easier. best of luck.

My instructions don’t say what type of increase. I am doing a stockinette stitch with medium weight yarn. I am planning on doing either M1L or M1R and doing the purl version for those rows. I guess I just don’t understand if it makes a difference which one I choose. I really am beginning to hate this pattern as it has been pretty nonspecific the whole time. Guess it isn’t for beginners (as least not beginners like me)!
Thanks

Sorry, it is 100% acrylic 4 ply worsted weight.
