Increase Pattern

Okay, I have a pattern, it’s a picture of a mouse and it says on the pattern it’s 120 stitches W and 160 stitches H. I want to make it onto a lap afghan for my mom’s birthday, 22.5 inches wide & 45 inches tall. How do I make the pattern fit that so that it’s not a tiny little image?

Thank you. =)

That’s actually a pretty large size, a lot of afghans only use about 160 sts across for the width. Figure out how many sts per inch you get then multiply it times 23 or 24". At 6 sts per inch (which is a pretty small gauge) that’s 138 sts, or smaller than the picture. Or maybe you’re reading something wrong? Do you have a link to the pattern?

I made it on a website called microrevolt.org/knitPro

It’s just a picture of a mouse from Cinderella. I selected XL (120w x 160h) and then Needlepoint, Cross Stitch, Crochet 1:1

I was going to select the knitting portrait but I think that means it will be 5 inches wide and 7 inches tall?

See if you could shrink it to about half - 60sts by 80. Then it should be able to fit into a blanket that’s about the size you want.
