Hi, I sm knitting some toy puppets and stuck on the face bits. For both a purl and a knit row it says: inc in first stitch, k or p to last 2 stitches, inc in next st then k or p. The stitch at the beginning of the row is fine as i just do like a cast on stitch but can’t see how to increase the 2nd stitch from the end, esp in tbe purl row. Any help appreciated. J
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
You could use a kfb improved or the purl version as long as increases aren’t stacked one over the other on succeeding rows.
The pfb would be similar in that you purl into the stitch then insert the needle into the same stitch from the back and slip off the needle. Here’s the conventional pfb where you actually purl into the front and back of the next stitch.
I like the lifted increases (KLL, KRL) because they are more subtle increases which can be worked as purl increases (PLL,PRL) as well.
