Increase Confusion

At the end of the above it states that I should have 4 increased stitches. I have one YO before the * then 2 M1 and two YO at the very end after the *. I also have one YO at the beginning of every repeat.

Have I misunderstood?

Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Yes, there’s certainly more than 4 increases. Even discounting the yo inc at the beginning of each repeat there are 5 yarn over increases.

Thank you. That’s exactly what I thought!

The pattern is Campfire Cozyby Espace Tricot

Very pretty, cozy and impressive!
See if the following rows make sense as far as the stitch count or the count of increases go.

Yeah, something’s off there. I might make up a swatch, go a few rows, and see what happens. Maybe all the extra yos are accounted for on the next row? So it would come out as if this row increased by 4?

Thank you.

The pattern begins to make sense in the next rows. I am not great and seeing this by just looking so knitting on was helpful.

That’ll work. If there’s still a question about the pattern or stitch number, come back and ask. This is going to be a beautiful shawl!
