Increase clarification please...

Hi, new to site and have a query on an instruction in this pattern for a baby dress, at shaping of armholes on the right side of the back to the dress.
Line of pattern states " cont on rem 33 sts , p24 sts Inc on outside for armholes 1st 3 times every 2 rows, 2sts from edge. ( then I will continue on 36 sts)"
I am stuck on the ‘inc 1st 3 times’
Please could someone help and explain what it means, I just keep having a mind blank or confusion of different increases rattling in my head and can’t sort.

Thank you
Sam

Can you link to the pattern? It always helps when answering questions.

It’s a paper pattern

Welcome to the forum!
“Inc on outside for armholes 1st 3 times every 2 rows, 2sts from edge”

You’re to increase every other row at the armhole edge. Repeat the increase 3 times total. Place the increase 2sts in from the edge.

It’s often surprisingly helpful to see a photo of the pattern. Ravelry is a good source of patterns online and printed. What is the pattern name?
