Increase and decrease a lace pattern : help!

Hello, It’s my first post here. I’m french and quite new in the world of web knitters. I’m doing the “marianne” pattern of the last Rowan, that you can see on my blog ( www.tricotta.blogspot.com ). I started with the back, have no more problems with the drawing, but need to decrease for the arms. How do I do to keep the the drawing together???
Thanks for your help!

Welcome tchoucotta!

I don’t know what you mean by “drawing”…

Amy

Sorry, my english is very poor… the pattern makes a kind of drawing, looking like little triangles. I’m affraid that getting mixed up in decreasing and the way I have to knit the coming stiches make the triangle ugly.
I’m not quite sure its more clear…
Now, if you look at my blog, you’ll see I’ll did it!!!javascript:emoticon(’’)
thanks

You’ve figured it out? Great!

That’s not an obvious word in English. I can’t think of any other word that would work, except for “pattern,” which is confusing because it also refers to the directions you’re following. So, “the pattern makes a kind of repeated-triangles pattern…”

Your sweater is looking Beautiful!!!
Nice blog, I wish I knew more French; un petit pur only, and I have no idea if I’m even spelling that right.

Amy

Thanks for the explanation. I understand now why it was weared! “un petit peu de français” is good enought! I’m thinking about making a english version of my blog, but though I speak well, I right very badelly, like the words were linking out of my head when it comes to type them.
Do you have a blog? I’d like to see what you doing.

By the way,I really like your smile on you photo!!!

Thanks! That picture (of my avatar) was taken moments after I married my husband! I love the picture because I’m so happy, and it shows. Actually, here’s a funny story… I use that same picture on a forum for artists, and one of the artists there emailed me and said they wanted to do a painting of that picture, because they liked it so much! They actually did do the painting, and sent me a picture of it–I love it. Maybe I’ll post it to my blog-thread later today if I have time!

We have a “Blog Thread” forum on this forum, where people can start a thread that is their own simple blog. I have one here. No pictures of knitting yet, since I just started it!

Hey, if you wanted to, you could just run your blog through an online translater (like this one), and have a computer-translated-to-English blog. It’s not a perfect translater, of course, but it’s workable.
