Incorporating cable into a pattern

Hello,

I have 2 patterns for a pair of shorts. I would like the knit the first pattern but incorporate the cable stitches from the 2nd pattern. I am going to knit the xs size, cannot tell me how I can incorporate the cables from one pattern into the other one? Thank you. (hope that makes sense)

This is the one I want to knit: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/90-22-b---knit-shorts-in-paris

This is the cable pattern I would like to incorporate into the one above:

The cable pattern is going to pull in the width of the shorts so you’ll need to add in some extra stitches. To figure out how many, do a swatch with and without the cable and see how much the cable affects the width. Then you’ll be able to figure out how many stitches to add to compensate for the cable.

You don’t need to capitalize your subject lines. It’s considered yelling on the internet so it feels like you’re yelling at us.

I agree with Salmonmac.

oh goodness, seriously??

I was only copying off of others, not sure why you would consider it yelling especially when I come on here to ask for help! :-))

I’ve sent you a pm.
