Well with the help of the Easy Peasy Sock pattern off Ravelry anyway. It’s a great pattern for beginners. Lots of helpful hints and explanations. I’ve learned a lot along the way too. Who knew that ssk meant slip, slip, knit the two slipped stitches together? Or how to pick up stitches? The video’s here at Knitting Help have been invaluable to me. I am really thankfull to have this site to refer to. My first sock isn’t pretty, and there are a lot of mistakes in it, but I figured it was just practice for the following ones anyway. I’m almost to the toe and am so excited to finish this one and start the next. I do believe I may have found a new addiction! Pretty good for something that had me totally intimidated up until a week ago.
Congrats! I just started on my first sock too. I’m using Silver’s Sock Tutorial. I just got done with my first row lol. Anyway, good luck in your sock making. And be sure to post pics when you’re done!!! 
Sock number one is done!!! It’s not pretty, and there are lots of mistakes, but I did it! I’m going to cast on for number two tonight.
