I'm new to knitting and have a question

after i finish my cast on and my first row of stitches, i don’t know how to get anymore rows…
like to make a square or a scarf.

Can someone please help me? And videos are very helpful.

Thanks so much. =]

Turn your work, the entire thing the other way, and at the top there will be your cast on tail and the tail coming from the yarn. insert your needle into the 1st stitch at the top, and using the tail from the yarn knit the row. hope that helps!

Take a look at Demo of a Small Project on the Tips page and that may help. It goes from Cast on, a few rows and the bindoff all at once so you see how it goes together.

You just put the needle with the stitches in your left hand with the ball of yarn poking out of the top stitch, put the empty needle in your right hand, and knit the stitches to the right needle. Then swap them again and repeat.

u can knit the simple one …just 2 knits then yarn over…then 2 knits …again thats it

If you add yarn overs between stitches, you get extra stitches… ?

After you knit the first row switch the needle with the stitches to your left hand and the empty needle to your right hand. Knit the stitches on the needle then switch hands again. That is called turning and creates the rows.

As Sue suggested watch the demo of a small project.
