My sister in law is going to have their first baby next August/September. Since I didn’t know how to knit when my niece was born 8 years ago, I am totally excited for this baby! I plan on making the usual - a few bibs, a hooded bath towel, and a blanket. In my search for unique things, I’ve also found a pattern for a knitted rattle and some “blocks”. I’d like to make some more things for baby but have run out of ideas - what kinds of things have you all made, other than clothing items?
Congratulations! I’ve made some little hats, some booties and even some cotton burp cloths. I’m sure you’ll find lots of fun things to make!:happydance: :woohoo:
I love this bib pattern --> http://nekkidknitter.blogspot.com/2007/03/catching-up.html (scroll down for it)
Oh and I’m going to make this --> http://stitch-therapy.blogspot.com/2007/02/kitty-baby-blanket-buddy.html
If you’ve got some nice sock yarn maybe a kicking bag? http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kicking-bag-for-babies
Happy baby knitting
Congrats! I’m in search of neat things to knit/crochet for my baby too! Hopefully we’ll both find some neat things!
Thanks for the ideas. I love that blanket buddy, it is too cute!!
Congratulations! It’s so much fun to knit for little ones.
There are tons of free toy patterns out there and on Ravelry. I’m sure you could find something good.
Here are some of my favorites (all from Knitty):
The Book of Knitty (Not exactly a toy, but still fun for a little one.)
Sheldon the Turtle (With a removable shell)
I’ve started knitting it, I couldn’t resist any longer!
Congrats! My nieces and nephews are now having kids of their own.
