I'm felting, I'm felting!

Here’s hoping it turns out right. chews on fingernails

Should it make me this nervous?

I am sure yours will be wonderful! Luckily it goes quickly so you might still have some fingernails after it is done.

It made me nervous on my first project. It was a yoga bag and a lot of knitting. It came out great though.

I just bought some wool sweaters at the Salvation Army. I am going to felt them tonight. At a later date, I’ll cut them apart and sew them into bags.

I just checked on it and it’s actually starting to look really nice! I’m delighted! I’ll check on it again in a few minutes and maybe it’ll be done…

:roflhard: I am working on a booga bag and I think that I will be the same way when it is time to felt.

I am so glad that it is going great!

of course it is nerve wracking…that’s an aweful lot of work to go ahead and “ruin” it by shrinking it!! it is going to be great i am sure!

when i am felting is the only time i wish i had a top load washer…front load takes forever. and then i remember i haven’t had to buy a bottle of detergent in 3 years (cuz it takes so little detergent) and it all seems worth it!..lol

Well it’s done! I’m actually very happy with it! It shrunk a lot more vertically than horizontally, and it looks like it’s about the size I expected it to be. (Have I mentioned that this is a bag?) And I’m very excited about the strap - I had to guess how long to knit it because it’s knit off of the side of the bag, and I managed to get it just the right lenght. This is so exciting!

I’ve blocked it and I just need it to dry and then I can use it! Yayay!

They DO shrink more vertically than horizontally so it sounds like it came out perfect! Can’t wait to see pics!

Everytime I read the title of this thread, I think that this is what the Wicked Witch would have said if her dress was made of wool. :rofling:

So glad it worked out for you!

lol i do too and that’s how it sounds in my head when i read it…heh

I think EVERYONE gets that first-time-felters’ anxiety, Lisa… HUGS!

I was a wreck when I felted my Booga Bag. And, then it took like three times through the wash to actually felt and for a while there I thought it was never gonna happen. :oo:

Glad your bag turned out well. Do we get to see a picture?

I’ll take after-pictures once the bag’s dry, and then I’ll post them! (I have before-pictures too to compare!)

Great! I have to admit that I have a little bit of a bag addiction. It’s not as bad as my knitting addiction, but it’s close!

Can’t wait to see it!

I have to admit that I have a bag addiction as well. Currently 2 otn, one on the mind not to mention all of the bags that I bought because I can not use a bag longer than a month

Its a sickness.

:roflhard:
