I'm Back

Hey guys, I created this account here about a year ago I’m a beginning knitter and my project was a Tom Baker Dr Who scarf.

Well after a bit more than a year and I’ve finished it and thought I’d share a pic of the final outcome.

Thank you to all those that offered guidance and support.

That’s great! How LONG is it? You win the perseverance award!

Hi and welcome back! Love your scarf! That’s amazing. Yes, how long is it?

Welcome back! Your scarf turned out great!

Probably 13 feet. I’ve not measured it with tassels, but the pattern I was following stated about 12 feet and I followed that loosely.

Thank you all.

I’m already working on another there are a few issues with this one I’m not happy with and I’d like to see how a second would turn our given what I learned on the first.

One thing I’d like to work on is when you come to the end of some rows and it seems you’ve got a bit of extra loop to work with, I need to figure out either how to hide those or get rid of them altogether.

Dude, it’s a terrific scarf! Great colors and what a fabulous length.

Impressive!

For a more even edge, slip the first stitch of each row as if to purl and knit the last stitch in each row.

Just make sure the yarn is in the back after slipping the stitch to knit.

Great job!

Welcome back! That is really long! Looks great!

That is a stunning scarf Mr Dude! Talk about determination, no WIPs for you and now you want to knit another one!! :knitting:

I’m not completely sure I understand.

I think a purl stitch is the reverse of a knit stitch, but I’m not sure of the technique involved.

Would like to see a video equivalent of this.

Slip the First Stitch

How’s this?

I got it now, it’s way simpler than it sounded.

Sad thing the new scarf I had started I’ve undone about 3 inches and am redoing using the edging technique.

I’m also going to start an infinity scarf for my wife.
