If you were this yarn, what socks would you be?

I fell in love with this gorgeous hand spun hand dyed yarn for socks. It’s so squishibly soft (merino) and the colors are even more beautiful in person. But I can’t find the right pattern. I was thinking something oceany for the blue and something maybe lacy for the pink? I’m not sure. I haven’t even balled it yet because I’m loving on it too much still :aww:

I’ve put the pictures on my blog and am offering a set of row markers for the person whose pattern(s) I use. So send me links or ideas or something.

Well for the oceany one I’d suggest the Pomatomus sock. I haven’t knit it myself, but the images look really gorgeous and I’ve been thinking of turning them in to a shawl sometime in the future.

Dotty, I was about to suggest the exact pattern, lol!
Therefore, I change to http://files.blog-city.com/files/aa/3830/b/sherislace.pdf Sheri’s Lace…a gorgeous pattern knit up and…fun to knit!

How about Kaibashira for the blue? Lots of wave action there. http://magknits.com/Sept07/patterns/kaibashira.htm

For the pink, take a look at Flickering Flames - http://designsbyblackdog.blogspot.com/2006/09/flickering-flames-socks-yarn-my-own.html

it’s on my “to do” list.

Oh those are all so pretty!! I’ve got them all bookmarked. Cia, I started the Pomatomus socks with the blue and green and they are knitting up very nicely. I owe you some stitch markers!

Nono, you don’t owe me anything… but if you want to opload your finnished sock to the ‘what cha knitting’ forum it’d be fun to see such a pretty pattern in such a pretty yarn
