Can you tell us where you saw the pattern or where you found the slippers? It looks more like a knitting stich if I turn it upside down but I still don’t recognize it.
Looks like a type of Honeycomb stitch.
Yes, it should be turned the other way round. I got the slippers in Primark in the UK.
I believe I’ve found this stitch pattern. It’s called the Three-dimensional Honeycomb also known as the (Honeycomb) Brioche Stitch.
Thanks for the suggestions. It is similar but not quite the same. But I do think it’s some sort of variant of the brioche stitch. It’s close to a quarter brioche stitch:
