wonder if they sell…
Holy moly! Who is buying a cashmere dog sweater at $165 a pop?!? I need me some of that action! :happydance:
Yeowza! And did you see the prices for the bigger sizes? $350 for a large cashmere?
ok…it is a dog sweater buy cashmere IS a lot of $$$…must love their doggies to buy those.
I love the designs! I wonder how much a coat would be for Rhoda?
Yowza! On a similar note, I know a woman who has been knitting practically since she could walk. She recently designed a knitted purse that she felts. They have a tab with magnet closure and the handles are unique costume jewelry pieces and often have a pin embellishment on them. Her cost for materials is around $80 each, but she’s been selling them for around $200!!! They’ve been selling like hotcakes in local boutique places and at events where she sells. Kudos to those who can make a little dough doing what they love to do!
I would think a dog sweater would fall apart fairly easy so I’d rather have one made out of acrylic. Cadhmere dog sweater?
It is all in how you market it. The trick is to find a boutique that will sell your stuff. It is easier than you might think. If you want to sell your stuff for $200 then you go into places that have prices that high. You already know the people who shop there will pay that.
I’m guessing the online business would sell less. Even if I could afford a $200 dog sweater (and was so inclined, which I am not) I would want to see it in person!
Personally, I agree with Femi, my dogs get sweaters that are Acrylic. Because they snag and get dirty the first time they wear them!
I could probably make one for under 20 dollars!! I have to say that those are EXSPENSIVE!!
I’ll admit it . I bought a cashmere sweater for my sister’s cat. BUT, it was $20 at TJ Maxx! I don’t like to wear acrylic, so I probably would not make my pet wear it either. However, he (a cat) does not go outside, so chances of it getting dirty are slim.
The woman who LuckyPenny wrote a dog sweater pattern for knitty.com – it is on their website.
Sweater for my cat is on my ever-growing project list. He is folically challenged. I made him a felted cape with a strap that goes under his tummy. He hated it and it is now on DD stuffed animal. So I think next I’ll try a traditional style sweater but with just button holes for his arms. I am waiting to get my stitch n bitch book back from my aunt. If I am remembering correctly I like the howl sweater. Has anyone made it?
