I wanna see your Clapotis pictures!

Hey Everyone

I think Im going to make a Clapotis but Im not sure how I would wear or where I would wear it. So I got to thinking, lets see everyones Clapotis’s in action.
Maybe this could be the thing that not only pushes me, but other people who are on the fence, over the fence and finally make one.

Now lets see those beauties!! :muah:

Oh yes yes yes such a good idea Jessica! I really want to make Clapotis but I’m not sure of which type of yarn to use and what size I should make it. I hope people will answer your call! :cheering:

Me too!!! I wanna see! :cheering: I have the exact same issue. I want to make this but can’t really invision how I would wear it as well as how it looks in different yarns and colors.

mee too! What i would really like to see is if anyone has adapted the pattern to make a scarf instead of a wrap. I have some mmmmmmmalabrigo and am considering making a clap scarf.

No one has any pictures :pout:

Look here

Silver, thats puuurfect!! Thank you. I cant believe I didnt think to google it.

You’re welcome! I am a Google addict.

I just finished mine this week. What a wondermous Valentine’s Day present to myself :muah:

Yes, she is huge. I invested approximately thirty hours on this scarf. Those straight rows seem to go on forver. My needles were smoking I was working so fast and I ended up working on it over the course of a week.

Here’s a close-up of the stitches.

And the action shot.

Even with the dropped stitch ladders, it’s very warm. Plus, the ways you can wear it make it very versatile. I’ve actually draped it over my head and wrapped the ends around my neck, worn it as a scarf and as a shawl. I used Caron’s Simply Soft in Watermelon from my stash. I used around 2 1/4 skeins for this project. I’m now using the left over to make matching “Fetching” hands warmers from Knitty.

those are great pictures!

knitty_kat, this is FABULOUS! :notworthy:

Thank you. I love my Clapotis. It was a very long project and by far the biggest knitting project I’ve ever done, but it was well worth it. I don’t know yet if I want to knit another one.

Thats awsome looking, I love it!! I still havent decided what to make mine out of :pout: Im so bad at choosing yarn

Just about any worsted weight yarn works great. On another forum I’m a member of, several ladies made the Clapotis for a Knitalong and there was such a diverse range of yarns used. One of my favorites was knitted with Patons SWS in the Natural Pink colorway. Another woman knitted hers out of Sari Ribbon yarn and it was glorious. The Caron Simply Soft worked amazingly for this project. I was worried about acrylic yarn being scratchy, but this is so soft and it’s inexpensive. You could use Lion Brand Wool-Ease, Lion Wool, Patons Classic, Patons SWS, Caron Simply Soft, Noro Kureyon or Silk Garden, Schaefer “Anne” (on size 6 needles), and Lorna’s Laces Lion & Lamb to name a few.

And you’re not restricted to worsted weight yarns… I made one in laceweight tripled and others have double stranded laceweight.
